7.0 Introduction
For this
project, we were assigned to carry out a selfless activity that benefits more
than just ourselves. Our group decided to visit a recreational park called
Kiara Park in Taman Tun Dr Ismail (TTDI). Our primary objective was to raise
awareness to passersby of the importance of maintaining the cleanliness of
parks. Whilst doing so, we also picked up as many rubbish as we could and
unclogged small drains.

9.0 Event summary
We arrived Kiara Park slightly later than
expected because of the heavy traffic and we were afraid we would not be able
to meet much people because they would have gone back after their morning
exercise routines. Luckily for us we still managed to meet many people. We
started off by picking up rubbish which we saw on our pathway. While doing so,
a couple of us walked towards people and begin explaining about the importance
of keeping a park clean. We managed to get a lot of feedback as the people were
very friendly and participative. After walking a whole circle around the park,
we arrived back at where we started from. We managed to get pictures,
signatures and also three bags full of rubbish.
10.0 Outcome
People are willing to
clean the park. People are more concern about environment but they do not take
action if there are no people who will lead them.
11.0 Suggestion
People said that they
must to pick the rubbish while they are doing excise at the park. From that, we
assumed that we successes to create awareness of “keep clean environment” to
people who were at the park and even we inspire people because they picked the
rubbish and throw them to plastic. People actually have passion to clean environment
so management of park could have noticed them to clean or not throw the rubbish
to the road. Besides, they might put more dustbins since there are few dustbins
we saw while we were picking up rubbish.
12.0 Weakness
There were difficulties in getting permission on certain
planed locations.
13.0 Strength
There are a lot of people around the park so it is easy to
interrupt with them and complete our mission.

15.0 Conclusion
A clean and healthy environment is part and
parcel of the wealth and quality of life that we desire for ourselves now and
for our children in the future. Healthy and balanced natural environment are
essential for supporting life on this planet. Due to objectives of our MPU
community service are improve environment conditional of Kiara Park by cleaning the park and each of
us should have social responsibilities advocate protect our environment. Litter
on the ground degrades natural areas and even kills plants and animals.
Littering also can carry germs, bacteria, and viruses. If everyone in Malaysia
no littering and realizing the important environmental challenges faced by our
planet, the cumulative effect is enormous. By raising awareness in our local
community and within our families and friends about these issues, we can help
contribute to a more environmentally conscious and friendly place for us to
live.
